Memphis Shades or Yamaha windshield
Memphis shades quick release windshield or factory low Yamaha windshield?

Looking to put a windshield on my Vstar 650. I measured accordingly to a few sites and found that I need something in the 16-17" inch range. I am looking at a Memphis Shades 17" Slim with the quick release hardware. I have been looking at the Yamaha factory one that is not quick release which I am told is probably an all around better fit & finish. These are both about the same coin. Just wanted to hear what people thought of this comparision.
Thoughts on which way to go?
Thank you
Tony

RE: Memphis Shades or Yamaha windshield
I have Memphis Shades, very good quality but in the Fats model, excellent customer service too as couple bolts vibrated off, i emailed them, they sent me replacements free.

RE: Memphis Shades or Yamaha windshield
I have a Memphis Shades bat wing on my 650 - I've been very happy with it. I ordered the model and hardware specified for my application and it went on in fifteen minutes with no trouble. With the blade clips I can remove it in a minute and reinstall in about the same.

RE: Memphis Shades or Yamaha windshield
I have the factory Yamaha windshield, came with the bike so I can't complain. Works great though.

Do you plan on putting it on and off often? Is the quick release a selling point? I've had mine off a couple times, 4 bolts doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes.

Thanks for pointing that out....I have been torn and more than once I have heard that the folks at Memphis are first class and look after you, I've also read about bolts loosening up and then getting lost. Don't really want to deal with that and thinking if its only 5-10 minutes to
talk the stock one off, maybe I should look at that....
Thanks
Tony

well can always put just a lil thread lock on the bolt, that will stop the loosening, hello bolts take a heck of a beating on a bike.
