The gathering and crafting system of Final Fantasy XIV is again quite distinctive, but also shares some similarities with how courses work. The moment you reach level ten, you'll have the ability to attend a nearby town and unlock every crafting/gathering class, which may be employed by again, equipping its particular instrument, similar to your combat class. You are not limited to the amount of gathering and crafting courses you can find out, and they all share seperate experience development.

Crafting itself isn't just "click to make this with X components" either. You're able to play a sort of mini-game together with you abilities to make your item - the intent is to successfully craft the product, with the greatest possible chance of it getting a top quality item, also without breaking it which causes a loss of substances. As we mentioned previously, high quality items reward dual experience, but they also provide off greater stats than their normal counterparts.

Each crafting course has its own set skills: they do things like raise the sturdiness of an item, increase an activity's success rate and boost the quality; some give more quality, but in a reduced success chance. Keeping in mind that a few of these actions reduce a things durability, nearly all also consume a source named CP. Just like battle classes, you could even borrow some skills from other crafting classes once you've unlocked them.

All in all, it is a juggle between managing your CP, product durability, and crafting progress.

Gathering is quite similar. There are three on offer: Miners extract minerals from gems, Botanists harvest wood and plants, whereas Fisher's obviously reel in fish. You may use your skills to search out and find hidden nodes to harvest whatever it's you're gathering. Just as CP was a resource to crafters, GP will be a gather's resource, which is spent on raising the chance of harvesting high quality materials. Collecting courses also come with some cool skills - an example would be the Miner/Botanist ability to stealth past enemies in order to get to harmful high-risk nodes.
