Suspension Adjustment?
Is there any adjustment, not permanent modification, in the rear suspension? I just took my bags, passenger seat and backrest off for awhile to ride solo. The rear fender looks like it is sitting extremely high in relation to the rear tire? Anyone familiar with this?

RE: Suspension Adjustment?
Yup. You can change the rear ride height. You'll need to buy longer links. Personally I have mine dropped 2.5" when I ride solo and .5 when with my wife. Its a very easy swap I can take pictures if you want.

I got mine off the Delphi v star 1100 forum... some member was making them at the time. Google it maybe he is still making them. I've heard mixed reviews about PCS's lowering kit...as in them twisting.

In the meantime you could soften the shock some.... although it wouldn't make it look any different when you're off the bike.

Ug... I just realized you said permanent. Swapping links is a <10min job but its definatly not a on the fly kinda thing

On the 650 take seat off.you will see a big spring.it has numbered notches.1 low 4 high.it takes a special wrench that came with bike.this only helps to keep from bottom out.if this is what you were talking about.i see if i can find the pics. also its in the manual

RE: Suspension Adjustment?
the 1100 has adjustable pre-load, remove the seat, the plastic plate that holds all the electrics, and the plastic plate in the fender (to the rear of the first plate) as with the 650 the special tool is required, I think there is 9 adjustments (check the manual). not sure how much difference it will make to the fender wheel gap, but it is easy to do, and not permanent.

RE: Suspension Adjustment?
Adjusting that preload will not close the gap between the fender and the rear tire lol
