V-Star 1100 single Carb conversion help!
I am converting to single carburetor (BIP) system with a TM40-6 Mikuni.
Several reasons why but primarily elimination of vacuum leaks, ease of adjustment, elimination of a bunch of extra parts, and no more re-syncing
carburetors.
Io Bike has Barnett Clutch, with new frictions and steels, cobra dragster pipes, Dyna ignition, new coils and caps, E-3 plugs,K&L exhaust gaskets.
My current system is the DBAK mod, using 2 Uni Pods, and jetted 117.5 Pilot 142.5 Mains.
I've had some problems last spring steming from overfilled oil.
Everything has been disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled/filled to specs.
Had a no start/no spark issue, so tested all my electrical components and ended up replacing coils as above and main relay. No Change.
Yamaha could not(or would not) test the ECU so cheper to buy the Dyna Ignition.
Have had lots of trouble with vacuum leaks at the carburetors, even with new boots. Also fought getting a goog seal at front exhaust manifold, thus the K&L gaskets.
Well, it's snowing outside now and the new manifold and carb extension are in route, so decided today would be a good day to fertilize my brain.
Hoping I can find someone here who has done a single carb conversion
using Mikuni TM40-6 Carburetor and can give me some clues as to pilot and main jet sizing.I have already made over a dozen searches on the subject to no avail.
I'm thinking 37-45 pilot and 175-185 mains just doing simple math.
Your responses will be appreciated and will contribute to the longevity of my brain cells!

RE: V-Star 1100 single Carb conversion help!
Well! No information forthcoming so with a littlr exoerimentation came up with the following:

37.5 Pilot jet
177.5 Main Jet
55 Fuel pump Nozzle

I rumbles like a harley and has much improved low end torque.
Hope this will help someone else considering a sigle carb conversion.
