Cobra Slash Cut on new ride
So i just bought a 2007 Vstar 1100 last week and am loving it. I was not happy with the exhaust, so I bought Cobra Slip on w/Slash Cut. It sounds great and I feel quite a difference in power. I am getting some popping but not much. I am curious to others experience. Does everyone here re-jet and cut the air sensor when removing the stock mufflers?

RE: Cobra Slash Cut on new ride
I installed V&H Cruzers on my 650 Custom and haven't modified intake, jetting, or AIS yet. I keep meaning to do the AIS but haven't gotten around to it.

I get an occasional pop but not too bad. I chose the Cruzers after listening to every 650 pipe video I could find. I left the baffles in and I'm really happy with them. Oh...as in most cases when you open up the exhaust without doing anything else, I did noticeably lose low end torque but the bike is geared so low it hardly matters.

Highway mileage seemed to improve a little.

removing the AIS will cut down on your popping. as will re-jetting or at least fiddling with the PMS on the carbs. I have (see signature) and love what I have done with it. only downfall i have is I have to run a higher idle which only cuts in town mileage. highway mileage has gone up about 5 mpg. I am planning on podding the carbs which of course will mean more fiddling with the fuel air mixtures but hey, thats fun of it!! Glad you are enjoying your new ride!

RE: Cobra Slash Cut on new ride
you shouldnt really bother with re jetting. just get rid of that AIS. its so easy!

you also can easily bypass the system and it works the same as if you took it off
